The A82 Glasgow to Fort William road runs through this dramatic and historic glen and the Visitor Centre is a perfect stopping-place.

Glencoe, the scene of the Massacre in 1692 of the Macdonald clan by soldiers of King William's army, offers some 14,010 acres of the finest climbing and walking country in the Highlands. Signal Rock, west of the Visitor Centre, is reputed to be the place where the signal was given to start the massacre.
