A Saxon Abbey enlarged in the 8th century by the Abbot of Glastonbury, St Dunstan, who became Archbishop of Canterbury in 960.
Places of interest not too be missed are the Cross, St Dunstan's and King Edgar's Chapels, site of Arthur's Grave, the Abbot's Hall and Kitchen and many more. The choir when practising is a very moving experience. Also of interest are the grounds with its wildlife area, cider orchard and fish pond.
