The family home of the Earls of Strathmore and Kinghorne, and childhood home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother and birthplace of The Princess Margaret.

Remodelled in the 17th century, the castle contains magnificent rooms and gardens.

There is a fine collection of china, tapestries, and furniture.

The entrance to this fairy tale 17th century turreted castle and the grandeur this site offers is to say the least, spectacular.

King Malcolm II is said to have died here in 1034. One of the oldest parts is Duncan's Hall, legendary setting for Shakespeare's Macbeth and has been a royal residence since 1372.
