Gipsy Boy - Did you know

Newmarket , East of England

URPoint Details

At the crossroads on the A45 between Newmarket and Bury is the grave of a gipsy boy, where ‘punters’ lay flowers in the hope of bringing good luck at the races. He hanged himself about 1840, when he miscounted his flock of sheep he was watching, and feared he would be accused of stealing
