URPoint Details
One of the most peaceful of the Pennine villages by the River Ribble, with quaint pale natural limestone cottages with their mullioned windows under carved drip-moulds, dating mainly from the 17th and early 18th century.
An ancient market cross, stands outside the main gateway to the perpendicular St Alkelda’s Church, with a carved pulpit dating from 1680 and an ancient reading desk.
To the north is Gigglewick Scar and farther on is an ebbing and flowing well.
