An attractive 18th century village with an avenue leading to Yester House, a fine Adam mansion built in 1745 the home of the Marquess of Tweedale.
Situated on Gifford Water it still retains its Mercat Cross and has fabulous views to the south of the Lammermuir Hills where Lammer Law rises to 1,733ft.
The church dates from 1710 and has a late medieval bell and a 17th century pulpit.
Goblin Ha’ is a vaulted underground chamber which is said to have been built in the 13th century by the local magician Hugo the Wizard.
