URPoint Details
United in one parish extending to the Northamptonshire border, the three 'Giddings' form a line a mile from one another, on the north side of the Alconbury Brook.
Little Gidding, at the centre, is not even the size of a hamlet yet it retains its little 17th century church, arranged as a collegiate chapel with early 18th century stalls. The building is a survival from a former religious community founded by Nicholas Ferrar, a 17th century lord of the manor. The villagers still make a pilgrimage to the church on the second Sunday in July.
