George Stubbs the great animal painter was born on the 25th August 1724 in Ormond Street, Liverpool.
Stubbs worked at his father's trade (currier, or leather-dresser,) until the age of 15 or 16, at which point he told his father that he wished to become a painter. One of his most famous works is the painting of the ‘The Grosvenor Hunt’. He died on the 10th of July180, in London
