URPoint Details
The church of St Peter is a sumptuous near perfect Georgian church of 1728 with an exotic cupola crowning the tower. All the original furnishings including box pews, two-decker pulpit, panelling and plaster ceilings delightfully elaborated in the chancel. A particularly grand monument of 1728 to Sir Nathan Wright (who commissioned its building) further enhances the interior and his son Sir George, with statues of them dressed wearing the costume of the day, including wigs.
