Situated between Loch Garve and the start of Strath Garve across which is a really lonely road to Ullapool.
The main road west continues along Strath Bran passing Loch Luichart and offering fine views of the distant Fannich. Beyond Loch Luichart and to the south of the road are the smaller Lochs a’Chuilinn and Achanalt with Sgurr Vuillin rising to 2,845ft.
To the northeast of Garve is Little Wyvis at 2,497ft backed by the larger mass of Ben Wyvis at 3,429ft.
To the east rises Ben Wyvis at 3,429ft and westwards are the Fannichs a grou of lofty peaks the highest of Sgurr Mor at 3,637ft, Loch Droma to the northwest sits at a height of 915ft on a desolate stretch known as the Dirrie More.
