URPoint Details

A delightful little village with some charming old timber framed houses where the River Roding and the Essex Way meet. The village also has its own special flower the ‘Fyfield Pea’ similar to a sweet pea and can be seen best in June and July when its crimson sweet smelling flowers are in bloom.

The watermill, mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 can be seen from the bridge over the river and is now a private home.

The ‘Black Bull’ and the ‘Queen's Head’ are both about 400 years old and are charming pubs with character, offering good bar meals.
