URPoint Details
Frimley is an old village where many prehistoric and Roman finds have been discovered. The manor was held by the monks of Chertsey from Anglo-Saxon times until the Dissolution in 1537.
The church was consecrated in 1606, but the present church of St Peter dates from1825. In the churchyard are buried many famous people, including the American novelist Francis Bret Harte.
Camberley did not exist before the 19th century and Frimley was just a small village.
