The village on the river Orwell has been in existence since the 8th century and has some wonderful old buildings including Bond Hall a lovely 16th century Manor House.
'Boot Inn' and the Old Forge are both 17th century and Monkey Lodge. Latimer cottage and Tudor Tower are all 18th century.
