URPoint Details
The Grant Union Canal bisects the village whose streets cross over it by means of swing and humped-backed bridges. Just before the road crosses the canal by a humped back bridge, note the weighbridge to the left. This was once the entrance to the village wharf. From the top of the bridge a fine view of the waterway is obtained. The towpath to the left leads to the Locks.
The square tower of St Andrews Church, with much of it built in the late 13th and early 14th Centuries dominates the village.
