Wheelchair-friendly pathways and ramps to enable smooth access to different areas of the station building. There are designated wheelchair spaces on the trains, and accessible toilet facilities are available at Caverswall Station. Due to the historic nature of the carriages, there are not accessible toilets on the train. There is a wheelchair ramp for the MK1 coaches, please speak with the guard or a member of the footplate crew on arrival and they will be only too pleased to help you on and off.
The railway was constructed in 1893 to carry coal from Foxfield Colliery to the North Staffordshire Railway at Blythe Bridge. Following the closure of the colliery in 1965 the line was rescued by the volunteers of the Foxfield Light Railway Service who today operate the line as a passenger carrying railway.
Upon your travel you can board the stream train for a 5 mile round trip taking in many views of Scenic North Staffordshire countryside and areas of local interest. During your journey you may wish to sample the delights of the ‘Bass Belle' which you will find well stocked with beers
