Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, (NT) - Ripon

Floodlighting: Abbey is floodlit on Friday & Saturday evenings until 10pm mid-August to mid-October. Last admission 1 hr before closing. Admission charge. Licensed restaurant, tearoom, shop dogs on leads guide dogs admitted. There are three disabled car parks around the estate road signs direct all visitors to Visitor Centre ample level parking with alighting point for disabled visitors near Centre. Alternative car parking available at Studley Royal garden entrance where car park is about 50yds from entrance on high ground, but disabled visitors may be set down on level ground before cars are returned to car park. Limited parking also available at former Abbey car park, approximately 50 yds from West Gate. Visitor Centre access to Abbey and grounds: it is recommended that all first-time visitors go to the Visitor Centre for orientation, exhibition, tactile wall frieze, audio visual programme (all with easy access) and information. The path from the Visitor Centre with the most gentle gradient (14%) takes visitors to and from Fountains Hall near Abbey a free minibus service is available from Visitor Centre to valley floor.
