Admission free; car park charge; picnic area; car park toilets. The lower ground floor is fully wheelchair accessible. The paths around the Arboretum & Gardens are all surfaced with gravel and there is a wheelchair accessible entrance on the road just above the house that avoids all the steps and gives you access to paths. Assistance dogs are welcome in the house, grounds, shop and Bakestone Café. Water is provided outside for visiting dogs.
An extensive collection of trees and shrubs set in 27 acres, with ornamental pond, Italian and walled gardens.
The gardens were laid by James Hugh Smith-Barry in the first half of the 19th century.
