URPoint Details
A lovely Strath Earn village was once a Pictish capital and has associations with Kenneth Macalpin and Malcolm Canmore.
To the north the river merges with the Water of May flows through the village from the Ochil hills.
There are some interesting places to visit including Broomhill farm where excavations have revealed a large Roman camp, to the southeast is Invermay House associated with Scott and to the north is the fine wooded park of Dupplin Castle.
A battle was fought near here in 1332 and a stone cross near the River Earn marks the scene.
