URPoint Details
Forfar lies in the Vale of Strathmore, famous for its strawberries and raspberries due to the lovely climate and soil.
An ancient, royal burgh and county town situated at the east end of little Loch Forfar is noted for its witches and the succulent pastie known as Forfar Bridies.
The town taken under Cromwell’s troops during the Civil War and by Robert Bruce in 1308 is now a pleasant market garden town.
Nearby lie the ruins of Restenneth Priory which has a 15th century spire and remains of 12th century walls. There is a grave in the graveyard for a baby of Robert Bruce.
