URPoint Details
The name is derived from the medieval bridge that crosses the River Avon and the views are stunning from here. The market town was once well known for the manufacture of canvas and sail cloth. A fine avenue of limes and sugar loaf yews lead to the church.
The church dates from the 13th century and shows some Early English, Decorated and Perpendicular work. There are some fine carvings from the 15th century on the roof of the chancel.
