A village on the edge of the Fens and on the edge of a limestone cliff, was in the 18th century a coaching post and there are some charming houses and on the site of a medieval castle is an old prison.
The Church of St Andrew has an outstanding Perpendicular tower. There are some 14th century arcades, 15th century windows, good screen and the chancel is Early English.
