Flora Macdonald, 1722-1790 and was made famous for her part in helping Bonnie Prince Charming escape to Skye in 1746. She was disguised as her Irish maid Betty Burke, when the price on his head was £30,000. She migrated to the United States where her family sided with the British in the Wars of Independence. She returned to Scotland in 1778.
