The home of the famous Flora Macdonald who married Allan Macdonald of Kingsburgh in 1750.
In 1746 Flora Macdonald sheltered Prince Charles Edward who was disguised as a maid from Benecula in the Outer Hebrides to Portree in Skye. Her family migrated to North Carolina but returned and in 1790 Flora was buried at Kilmuir.
