A charming village of stone and timber-framed cottages and the narrow Stopham Bridge over the River Rother is one of the finest medieval bridges in Sussex.
The Church of St Mary was rebuilt in Victorian times and has two medieval bells, the Sancta Toma Or, dating from the 14th century and the 15th century Sancta Catarina.
