URPoint Details
A footpath runs from the village into the heart of Grizedale Forest where deer roam and buzzards wheel over the trees. Cars can be left north of the village in designated spaces.
There is a short woodland walk to High Dam Pool in the lee of the Finsthwaite Heights.
Another lovely 2 mile walk is to Newby Bridge and skirts the grounds of Finsthwaite House.
