URPoint Details
St Peter's Church, built by G E Street, the architect of the Law Courts in the Strand (London), the church was consecrated on Easter Tuesday, 1857.
The apsidial east end is worthy of note, and the church has on display an embroidered altar frontal, which was probably designed by Street himself.
This church is said to have been a favourite of John Betjeman, who attended the centenary service in 1957.
