URPoint Details
The Old Kingdom of Fife has plenty of character. St Andrews' unique story includes its life as an academic centre (Scotland's oldest university is here), and as an important religious centre, though its cathedral is now only a ruin. To St Andrews' layers of history must be added its claim as the home of golf. Fife's story is certainly bound up with the sea, which is why the East Neuk villages, facing the Forth estuary are popular: Crail, Anstruther and their neighbours rate as some of Scotland's most attractive 'townscapes', while Anstruther's Scottish Fisheries Museum is well with discovering.
