URPoint Details
A pretty place on the edge of the Fenwick Moors on Fenwick Water.
The restored church, built originally in 1643 has a post-Reformation pulpit and the jougs are preserved. There are Covenanter monuments in the churchyard, and one inscription recalls Scott’s ‘Old Mortality’.
To the south stands the seat of Crawfurland Castle given to the Hewison-Crawfurds by James V as a reward for his rescue from footpads at Crammond Bridge.
