Michael Faraday FRS, born 22 September 1791, was an English scientist who contributed to the fields of electromagnetism and electrochemistry. He discovered the induction of electricity in 1831. Attributed to him are Faraday effect; Faraday cage; Faraday constant; Faraday’s cup; Faraday’s laws of electrolysis; Faraday paradox; Faraday rotator; Faraday efficiency effect; Farady wave; Faraday wheel and lines of force.
