URPoint Details
A small Firth of Clyde resort with a lovely little harbour and pier and where in the parish Church of St Margaret is the ancient Fairlie Stone only this part is left of a recumbent (horizontal) monument designed to cover a grave. The resort sits opposite the Island of Cumbrae on which stands the main town of Millport and from here sailings to Millport and Kilchattan in Bute can be taken. Picturesque Fairlie Glen is where the ruins of the 16th century Fairlie Castle, once seat of the Earls of Glasgow. Through the Glen the road leads to a series of waterfalls and Fairlie Moor.
