Although close to London, this attractive village has some fine medieval houses and lies in the Darent valley.
The parish church was originally Norman had a tall slender spire added around the 13th century.
A 15th century bridge crosses the Darent River, and a ruined castle offers fine walks along paths which lead to Pilgrims Way.
