(pronounced E’em)
Sleepy Eyam remembers its tragic past - that day in September 1665 when George Viccars opened a box of cloth from London, and let the Bubonic Plague loose in the streets.
Eyam cut itself off from the outside world to stop the spread of the killer disease, but the village lost 267 people from 76 families in just 14 months.
