The gardens benefit from a wide tarmac driveway which extends from Exbury House in the centre of the gardens to Dragonfly Pond at the northern most point. Secondary paths are constructed from compacted gravel which are more suited to pneumatic tyres than solid. Wheelchairs with pneumatic tyres are available to borrow without charge from the Visitor Entrance. The Steam Railway has carriages specially adapted to accommodate wheelchair users and their companions.
Gardens open March to October (summer opening 53 acres July to early September). Plant Centre and Gift Shop open March to December 10am-5.30pm or dusk. Free parking. Lunches and cream teas available, plant centre, gift shop.
200 acres of landscaped woodland gardens include an outstanding collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and magnolias. In addition to many other notable trees and shrubs they feature a rock garden, heather gardens, daffodil meadow, iris garden, ponds, cascades and unlimited walk. The gardens are at their most spectacular in Spring and Autumn.
