Everton is a village on the Greensand belt, at the extreme edge of the county and has a strange tale to tell.
It is said that in 1904 a man accused of killing a fox was buried with his boots on.
And it is also rumoured that certain corpses were found to have been buried in an upright position – they had been hanged for sheep stealing
