Elveden Hall set in parklands, lakes and forests was built by the Maharaja Duleep Singh in 1888. The building has carved marble, eastern architecture and a dome of beaten copper. There is a 113ft high stone column, with 148 steps inside.
The estate houses and alms-houses are of red brick, and Chalk Farm is the oldest house in the village and has walls plastered, is flint faced, has mud and straw.
St Andrew and St Patrick’s Church dates from the 12th century and was lavishly restored by both the Maharja and Lord Iveagh.
