Elinor Trout Fishery - Aldwincle
URPoint Details
Fishery Rules Apply.
The fifty acre size and shape makes Elinor an easily fished but still challenging fishery. Elinor is a bank anglers paradise with all banks accessible and weed growth having, in the past, not proved a problem.
With its fleet of 14 boats, Elinor is an excellent all round brown and rainbow trout water for both boat and bank angler. Weekly stocking provides consistent fishing throughout the season.
Stocking size ranges from a minimum of 12 inches in length up to double figures in weight. As much importance is put on the quality of stock fish as well as size, expect to catch streamlined fish with a full complement of fins.
Successful flies to try at Elinor are: Lures - Viva, Cat\'s Whisker, Black Tadpole, Muddlers. Wet Flies - Invicta, Mallard & Claret, Black Pennel, Greenwells. Nymphs - Damsel, Corixa, GRHE, orange PTN, Montana. Drys - Deer-Hair Sedge, Olive Dun, Daddy-longlegs, Shopmans Buzzers.
