A charming village in the Nailbourne Valley, with some interesting old houses, including timber-framed overhanging upper storeys of the medieval times to the elegant red brick of the 18th century.
The square was once the market place and the charter dates from 1251.

Wellington is reputed to have stayed here during the Napoleonic Wars.
