URPoint Details
A town on the curve of the River Tame with a mostly 19th century rebuilt church of St Peter. The church still retains its 15th century perpendicular tower and has a fine collection of tombs. There is a monument to the grandson of Sir John Stanley, who was killed by a tennis ball in 1460.
Location: 5 miles (8 km) east of Lichfield and 5 miles north of Tamworth
