Egmanton was mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1085. The name derives from the Old English words for Ecgmund's farm/settlement.
Location: 1mile south of Tuxford and 1mile north of Laxton
The Church of St Mary has Norman architecture in the nave. Sir Ninian Comper rebuilt the rood screen and designed the pulpit and organ case. The glass in the east window is also by Comper.
