A small village scattered around interesting green lanes that lead to the `drift', a medieval drove road, close to the Melton to Oakham Canal, closed in 1847.
Edmondthorpe Hall was said to have been destroyed in 1943 when a cook threw a rolling pin at a white cat, knocking over a pan of fat in the process!
