Guided tours if booked; gift shop; restaurants; cafe (spring and summer only), picnic area; children's play area; WC; car park. Many of the paths around the zoo can be accessed by wheelchair. Due to the hilly nature of our location, some routes involve steps or steep slopes which are unsuitable for wheelchairs. A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available for free hire from the main entrance. A limited number of mobility scooters are also available to hire on a first-come-first-serve basis
Established in 1913, there are over 1000 animals with many threatened in the wild and all set in 80 acres of beautiful hillside park.
Animals range from the tiny Blue Poison Arrow Frogs to massive white rhinos, and the world's largest penguin enclosure with underwater viewing. The famous Penguin Parade takes place April to September daily at 2pm.
