Launde Hall was built on the ruins of an Augustinian Priory. The hall was granted to Oliver Cromwell, he never lived in the house but gave it to his son Gregory when he married a sister of Queen Jane Seymour.
This small village lies in the open countryside between Uppingham and Leicester, and is a picture postcard scene in all seasons.
