A beautiful Downland village with many buildings in the local architectural style thatched timber-built houses some of which date back to the time when the village was famous for cloth, annual fair.
The parish church has a 'faceless' clock plays a hymn every three hours and although much restored still retains 13th century arcades, 14th century chancel and a 17th century pulpit.
