A small market town is surrounded on three sides by farms and on the fourth side by Thetford Forest and the tiny hamlet of West Harling.
An attractive place with Georgian houses and is centred round Market Street.
The very gracious church of St Peter and St Paul, is mainly 15th century but with evidence of a church being here earlier. It is in the Perpendicular style with a lofty west tower topped by an elegant spire. The magnificent stained east windows have 15th century panels.
