Interesting history of over 150 years of Railways in East Anglia. The Heritage centre, buffet car, picnic area and free parking along with rolling stock, miniature railway and special event days make this a great day out.
The Chappel Viaduct started in 1846 and took 3 years to complete is the longest in East Anglia and is reputed to be the largest brick structure in Europe containing over 7 million bricks. Each of the 32 arches is 30ft long and the trackbed rises at gradient of 1 in 120.
