A small Highland clachan, near the site where the famous Appin murder was committed in 1752, for which James Stewart, whose home was at the farm of Acharn, was tried at Inveraray and unjustly hanged at Ballachullish. To the southwest on the shores of Loch Linnhe is the ruined Kirk of Keil where James Stewart is buried.
