A beautiful village with a wide main street of old-world houses, an unusual eight-sided 17th century Yarn Market, and a tower built in 1775 on Conygar Hill.
The church once a Benedictine priory and a parish church is the largest and dates from the 15th century.
For six centuries the castle was owned by the Luttrell family and the local pub retains their name.
