The cruciform Church of St Mary and All Saints is in the Decorated style with some interesting ancient woodwork and 13th century oak pews, showing the original tool marks dating from 1300.
Each farm was responsible for supplying its own seat, and also for maintaining a section of the churchyard wall.
The original altar stone, made of Sussex marble, lies in the churchyard under the shade of a massive yew tree.
