URPoint Details
Just west of the headland is the little village and to the north is the Ness of Duncansby.
A promontory over 200ft high at the north eastern extremity of Caithness and rising out of the sea south of the head are two rocky outcrops known as Duncansby Stacks.
The lighthouse commands a fine view of Orkney, the Pentland Skerries and the headland of the east coast.
A little to the south are the three Duncansby Stacks, huge stone needles in the sea.
The sandstone cliffs are severed by great deep gashes (geos) running into the land. One of these is bridged by a natural arch.
