URPoint Details
A pretty village, below the Pennine escarpment, with the prominent Dufton Pike, with squat sandstone houses surround the green and from just north of it is a track which leads to the summit of the 2930ft Cross Fell, 6 miles away.
To the east is the extraordinary cleft in the hills known as High Cup Nick, showing the dark bands and columns of the Great Whin Sill and providing spectacular views towards the Eden Valley and Lakeland Fells.
